A bit of a head wind in Cape Town

Looks like a normal day on the fens to me.

Location
Loch side.
Mis-described as a race, though.

Unless they now allow tandems to take part as well.

Yup, there are tandems as well. They take off in their own groups.

There's a nice clip somewhere of the tandem riders taking off, charging down the street only to meet the headwind and all come to a dead stop and plenty of falls. Thereafter the tandems blow down the road and cleated lycra-runners hopping after the bikes.

Wimps, has the Dutch influence completely ebbed away in South Africa?

Generally the wind blows from the south east so you get a headwind going out towards the Cape and a good blow going back through the western suburbs.
