I've been wanting to post these photo's for a while but as Google accounts (where I store my photo's) was not accessible in China I've had to wait. Kyrgyzstan was an amazing country with awesome scenery, It was a bit too late (for myself) to ride the Pamir Highway though but nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed the route I took.

My highest pass (to that date)

Amazing pictures. Am i the only thicky who doesnt even know where in the world Kyrgyzstan is?
Well I knew it was somewhere around there but not even I could locate it without the aid of google maps. I sure as heck didn't know where Sary Tash was but that photo with the Himalayas in the background is stunning. If I didn't look closely I would have thought they were clouds, where heaven and earth meets. Truly amazing and I'm jealous (in a nice way)!

I like the 4 of you together. Its like an Ortleib advert :0)

What bike are you riding Yellow?

Yes, it most certainly looks like Ortleib gets the 'Panniers of Choice' on that photo, it took several attempts to get the photo, I use a tripod, it's not used much but glad I carry it. I built the bike myself in 2008, initially for riding U.S. Route 66, the frame was made by Argos Cycles in Bristol, here she is (with the initial non Ortleib front panniers, and I now use a rear mounted kick-stand): http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/show-us-your-steel-its-real.16850/post-3031032

Yes it's surprising just how many 'Stans' there is in central Asia , Tadjikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Afganistan and Kyrgyzstan. I plan to return in a couple of years to ride the epic Pamir Highway, after fitting suspension forks to my bike.
