Fancy having a platform sloping towards the lines- he's a very lucky boy.

We had a mum on The Grand Western Canal Stop to take a picture, didn't put the brake on the pram. It rolled into the water, the child needed airlifting to hospital.

Gulp! Mother must be a bit dozy eh?

It amazes me the way people stand right at the edge of the platform as trains come through the station. Stuff that, I stand right at the back until the thing's past. A guy from my street got dragged under a train a Wembly station years ago. He survived but it messed him up pretty bad.

One very lucky baby, and one very lucky mother!

There was nearly a tragedy here a month ago when a pram with a 14-month old baby in it was picked up by a freak gust of wind and blown into the Rochdale canal. The child's father reacted quickly and saved his daughter. Details here. Yikes!

Yeah me too Pigsie. I think it's on Sky where the footage has been slowed down even more and you can just see the absolute terror coming from the mother.

Yeah, We've had Sky News on all day here. It doesn't get any less shocking the more you watch it.

I cant help thinking what the other members of the public felt when they witnessed that. I bet for sure they though the baby was a goner. Not to mention what the mother thought! It looked like she was going to jump down after it!

Absolutely shocking. But at least they are still alive!

It could easily have been a double tragedy. If the train had been slightly further away, or she had been a little more impetuous, she could've jumped down after the baby and been killed herself.

I remember the sad story about three people killed in Blackpool years ago. Someone's dog fell off the promenade into the sea and the moron jumped in after it. Two police officers jumped in to try and save the dog walker and all three of them drowned. The dog swam out and was fine.
