I am looking for a largeish saddlebag for a weeks B&B Tour. I will be travelling light and want to try and leave the panniers at home.

I recently bought a Frost River Gunflint Trail, which got it's first outing on the Friday night ride last week. It is well built (cotton duck, leather and brass fasteners). Holds, so the manufacturers say, 25L. the reason I went for that rather than a Carradice, is that the FR is sqaure in section, whereas the Carradice tend to be rectangular, thus stick out further either side of the bike (and I think a square bag is easier to pack than a rectangular one)

I think I willmgo for a carradice as I think a 25ltr bag would be a bit large for what I need. Getting one sent over to Denmark is not aproblem.

I'm off on Sunday for 12 days B&B to Portugal. I'm using a Carradice saddle bag that came with a bike I bought. It's Super C sized and shaped but has an intergral frame that fits around the seat stays. The bag has a pocket underneath and slides on and off the frame. They don't make them any more for some reason. I must get round to putting a picture on my blog. I've packed all my gear and there is still plenty of room. One tip. I bought some of those big Vacuum bags from the £1 shop. They have a one way valve built in. Put all my clothes in it. Opened the valve and sat on the bag. Whoosh. Everything flat as a pancake and hardly takes any room up in the bag. Brilliant.
