A noise annoys

Got a bit of a knocking from near the chain, with each revolution of the pedals. It becomes more frequent on the smaller gear wheels. Any ideas as I can't see anything?

Outside of the chain rubbing on the front derailleur cage?

Had this with mine and it was the bottom bracket, needed replacing.

I always start at the top and work down, you would be amazed at the number of times the noise is saddle related, good luck.

Finally sussed it out on mine, had similar symptoms... got worse on bad roads... brake cable hitting the top tube and annoying me badly! metal metal knock with each hole in the road...
