I've got some of the Tony Martin Sidi wire shoes and love them, I was dubious at first about the wire snapping and the durability of the ratchet system but all still working fine and I've done nearly 10,000 miles in mine since I've got them.

I've had a few pairs of Sidi's now and they do seem to last longer than Shimano ones I've had in the past that bits falls off all to easily, but I do find the Sidi's take at least a few weeks to 'break in' and get proper comfortable, (maybe that's just my feet tho) so if you do get any I'd advise sticking with them if they seem uncomfortable at first.

I've also heard people with especially wide feet say they have problems with Sidi's so just be aware of that if you've got massive Bilbo Baggins style 'plates of meat'^_^
