I'm getting confused now! Are you saying you can or are you saying you can't park over a H line? To me, the below says you can't, therefore that car is parked there for most of the day illegally. If it is parked illegally, how come, according to the nearby shop owners I know, has that vehicle not been ticketed?!🤔

H Bar road markings for dropped kerbs | Dudley Council https://share.google/DOOTrm6DEx0DCqySc

H lines are a polite request not to park there, nothing more.

This vehicle is parked across a dropped kerb, which is an offence. However, in most areas parking has been derrgulated and enforcement passed to the local authorities, who may or may not be proactive in enforcing such regs.

Not extending the double yellows adross the dropped kerb was asking for some prat to try this. Not only that, hes overhanging the double yellows anyway so is in non-compliance.

All photos taken today at that dropped kerb, H bar in question.

As you can see there is a white H line and that narrow alley is far too narrow to get a car down. That BMW in the pictures taken the other day wasn't there today, but another vehicle was. When I started to take those photos this aft' someone pegged it out of that cafe, dived in that car and drove off, probably thinking 'He's one of those saddos that go round taking photos of illegally parked cars to pass onto the authorities'. Correct on the first count, but I just post them on CC, not send them to any authorities etc.😏

WTF are they playing at with the combination of road markings there?

I know loading/unloading is allowed if there are double yellows on teh road but none on the kerb, but to marked loading bays, and then Keep Clear message, and stopping the double yellows across the H bar.

This is not joined up road marking.

Sent to me by someone I know, asking if I know the owner of this van parked across the road from my flat last Saturday. The person who asked me said she remonstrated with the driver of the van as he got out, asking him to show some consideration to mobility scooter users, folk pushing prams and just anybody who wants to get past his van. She then added that on being asked to show some consideration he replied 'I'll only be half an hour while I go for a pint (In the pub in the photo) and snort some coke, so they can wait'! What a complete twat eh!! I told her that she should've phoned 999 saying someone in the pub was drinking, and taking a class A substance with the intention of driving soon after! Surely if she had done so, the police would've been hiding, then pounced when Mr Twat got into his van and turned on the ignition! If only it'd been me who Mr Twat said that to!!!!
