A pavement parking odyssey

There's gas main replacement going on round here with most of the road reduced to a single lane controlled by traffic lights. Surprisingly the owners of the cars that are normally parked half on the pavement on both sides of the road have suddenly realised that they've got driveways.

I wish somebody could invent a snatch truck, which could come alongside illegally parked cars and silently remove them in a few seconds without causing any damage, so as to carry them away to a pound. I'm sure it would pay for itself very quickly.

In Pakistan they use a less stealthy method of dealing with illegal parkers:

I remember that. But amazing at first, then you get used to it.
Like manhole covers being "recycled" - made walking around at night even more dangerous.

Nothing wrong with that if they have stopped to pick up or drop off a student. THat is included in "loading".

I don't think that counts as loading.
Such bays are for loading/unloading goods not people.

Looks like you are right. I thought it was the same rules as for yello9w lines (without vertical kerb markings), but seems I was wrong.

I used to get paid to go there and could even access areas the public couldn't, including driving round the track at night on a dibble Suzi DR400, and it still wasn't worth it.
