What an absolute brain donor

If that's his level of intelligence I don't think he's got much to donate.

As it was official work I would have expected there to be a barrier to protect pedestrians going round the van, and signs at either end, very poor form. However the fire service said it was all hunky dory.

But surely anyone with half a brain would have at least looked and listened before walking around the van

Anyone with half a brain wouldn't have used the footway as a car park.

Vehicles live on roads, humans on the footway. Anyone dense enough to struggle with that shouldn't be working Trumpton in the first place.

Interestingly, the Trumpton spokesmans justification for parking on the footway is equal justification for not expecting a pedestrian to have to walk in the road. To Obstruct the footway in that manner js an offence, and if I'd done that in the dibble id have earned an "interview without coffee" with the Supernintendo and made to pay a 3 figure donation to the Supers favourite charity, and deservedly so. Clearly in Trumpton thats acceptable.

As you can see from the photo, the headline is for effect, as it is clear that the lady is safe on the pavement.

The response from the fire service is really poor. The operative is not attending to an emergency, and if the location is dangerous for parking, then they need to put signs and barriers up to protect themselves and the public. Note also that the van drove across the opposite lane to get to the pavement close to a blind bend, overall really poor example.

I'm not saying the parking is acceptable, the parking is as crap as the clickbait journalism!

Yes, clickbait headline, and they wonder why newspapers are no longer selling

The government should grow a pair just ban pavement parking. No passing powers to cou ciksmto decide, just blummen well ban it.

Here in rural Gloucestershire it's even worse as folk buy cute cottages on narrow lanes where there's not even a pavement and expect to park their Range Rover in the lane

I know, people are eejuts.

Am I the only person who every time they look at buying or renting a property think to themselves, "right, where I park the car?" I often think I am.

Local ambulance station to the rear
There's a road that crosses under the A58, that gives access to a carpark to the right-hand side of the A58, just in front of both cars.
