What exactly is the active ingredient in Cillit Bang?

I've tried various other limescale removers, but Cillit Bang does the job best.

The trouble is that it is pretty expensive.

So what is the active ingredient? I imagine it is some kind of acid, but what kind?

When I find out, I will buy a gallon of it on the cheap and just keep refilling the old cillit bang bottle.

Surprisingly, no! With the other products I've tried it's a case of spray it on, wait 5 minutes, then scrub, scrub, scrub and scrub some more until you finally get the limescale off. With cillit bang, it really is !!*!£$-BANG-!!!!@! and the dirt is gone. You hardly have to scrub at all.

I am more of a physics guy but i would think it would be this that you want Sulfamic acid. That is the main limescaley removing ingredient but obv how strong and how much if it is in the product will determine how effective it is.
