Some of the hills that I was struggling with even a month or so back are surprisingly easy now - after deciding to do more hills in the past couple of months.

If you're useless on hills like I am, the answer to that hill is gears. Lots of them. (Oh, a coffee at the bottom of the hill is also very welcome. I couldn't believe my luck.)

Quite dreadful
Congratulations nicholas:bravo:

As dfms says, gears help a lot. I cheated on Ditchling by putting on a 28 tooth chainring and a 12-28 cassette. However, the major credits are owed to Sussex County Council who put down some nice new smooth tarmac.

Spa Cycles have some reassuringly low tooth number chainrings that will fit a Shimano triple.
My 28T Stronglight one cost about £14. It paid back in Spades.

I wish you continued success with your bike and happier weeks ahead.
