I have been given a challenge by an ex military collegue. 22 push ups every day for 22 days. I cannot do push ups as I have a dodgy shoulder and so I suggested I ride a Km for every push up. After some maths I worked it out to be 482 km or 300 miles. That is equivelent from our old barracks in London to Carlisle. So instead of riding my usual routes in Denmark, I will be riding from London to Carlisle and have to send reports of my route and things I would see. I have up to 22 days to finish the trip.
It sounds strange but I will get the miles in and learn something about new places without actually having to go there.

You could always ride the other way and travel forward in time instead?
It's all over FB. It's something about showing support to American veterans. I don't get it. It looks to me like a load of blokes filming themselves being muscly. At least the icebucket challenge was entertaining and raised some money.
It's based on the disputed statistic that in the US 22 veterans take their lives every day. If nothing else I suppose it starts a conversation.

At least this one, like the ice bucket thing, isn't based on lazy sexual innuendo, there have been a few of those in the past - mostly for raising awareness of cancer.

I'm a bit confused - is the idea to do the ride in Denmark but pretend that you are doing the English route? If not, then what does this sentence mean ...?

Yes it is Colin. Its like a virtual bike ride. I rode 48km today on my commute. I transfer the 48km from our old barracks in Mill Hill, North London and so I am just short of Hitchin now

I was off work for 4 months earlier in the year with anxiety and depression. It came from nowhere and is dibilitating as you have no idea how to deal with it. Being on my bike helped a lot. They say excercise is one of the best ways to deal with stress. I dont mind riding a few miles to raise awareness of stress.
