So, I have a Brooks B33 on one bike, superbly comfortable and, I suspect, strong enough to take my weight several times over. It weighs a lot:

At the other extreme, a cheap Chinese carbon saddle arrived in the post today. It's certainly light, but I'm not sure if I dare fit it (to a different bike)!

Any thoughts, or has anyone used one of these cheap carbon saddles?

Well, one is heavy and one isn't - or maybe one is heavy and the other is heavier, or perhaps one is light and the other is lighter ?

I really have no idea what you are wanting people to say

Maybe a answer for the question

Ive used a cheap carbon saddle, Id guess it's as uncomfortable as a expensive carbon saddle.

Though it made my bike look very fast, it didn't live on my seat post for very long and said saddle now lives in the parts bin.

Id say a scaffolding bar bolted to your seatpost would be more comfortable

@YahudaMoon has it. I thought it was a mildly amusing introduction to a question about carbon saddles. I am not a professional comedian.

The Brooks is great on a sit up and beg bike, but it would look a teeny bit out of place and probably wouldn't be very comfortable on a 'racer'.

I've not tried the carbon one yet. I can make up my own mind about comfort if and when I fit it, my main concern is will it break. Hence the question as to whether anyone's used one.

I use a carbon railed Fizik Aliante and it's still there after several thousand miles, also very comfortable

Thats not a full carbon saddle though, it has other composites:
  • Twinflex shell flexes in the centre while remaining rigid at the sides.
  • Foam Twinflex cushioning.
  • Microtex cover and thigh glides.
  • Durable 'Soft Touch' Scuff guards.

Cheap chinese carbon, right under your bootie. No ta. For a few bob more, even cheaper second hand, you can get some Selle Italia saddles at 180g, and that includes some padding. Picked up a lightly used Selle Italia SLR (carbon base) for £30. Very comfy.. I'd never go for a carbon only saddle. Thats where less isn't more.
