I was expecting a bloke with a trombone to come belting around the corner.

I worked at a SAAB dealership in the late 70s and clearly remember the 1st time one of those drove into the forecourt, now I'd worked on loads of the V4 versions but that 2 stroke triple engine sounded like it was doing 90 at tickover.

My old Rover P6 V8 was a masterclass at turning copious quantities of fuel into noise, with little in the way of anything else as a by product

I saw that bike at a local bike show a few years back. The builder is a genius/nutter who plans and designs all the builds in his head. He's famous in bike circles for his 5 cylinder conversions on Kwak 2 stroke triples.

I had a Land-Rover 90, with a factory fitted V8
It was the later 134BHP (on SU carbs) & that sounded great

However, to my mind, the best Solihull useage of the venerable (ex Buick) V8 was in the 101FC
I've driven a couple, they're fun beasties, but make a hell of a row, at 60+MPH, & as for the position of the gear-lever......

Almost a 'Muscle Car' sound in the first few seconds, over the humps
