'Wanton of furious driving', which is the offence under the 1861 Offences Against the Person Act, requires bodily harm to have been done to someone - speed alone is not enough to make out the offence.

The offence under the 1847 Town Police Clauses Act is actually 'riding furiously' - not 'cycling furiously'.

Indeed, the rider suddenly shot off at a rate of knots because he had remembered he'd left the gas on, and his rapid departure was nothing to do with his mouth writing cheques his body couldn't cash.

Their website seems rather minimal. On Facebook they seem to have lots of people moaning that they are legally restricted to 20mph past schools and there seems to be "20 is too slow" posters to protest against their "right" cause carnage.

Say what you like about paedophiles, at least they drive slowly past schools.

Just buy a helmet cam- you'll soon be furious while cycling.

Try to keep your irrational prejudices to yourself. Many cyclists (particularly in Australia) believe that helmet cameras are useful in case of an incident, since too many motorists make all sorts of ridiculous claims after hitting cyclists with their cars.
