Anyone have this problem. It took me 10 mins of fiddling around to open my ABUS steel-o-flex lock. Almost gave up and went home for a tin of WD40 and then it suddenly opened. Its happened once before. Lock doesn't see much use and spends most of its life in cold but dry garage so its hard to see that I'm treating it rough.

freezing temps do funny things to locks. pour some water on it

These are "open to the elements" so occcasional care and lubrication is worthwhile.

However if it is simply the cold then defrosting with a warm liquid helps.

Wee on your lock. ;)

But keep it well topped up with Wd40 or just regular chain lube. Sometimes it takes a while for the lube to sink in properly, so you don't want to leave this until the last minute.

One of my Abus out all night and day locks jammed lately

plenty of wahing up liquid and some water freed it nicely, just grit I think but it was rock solid
