Weren't AC founding members of the football league? Or was it foundering members? Oh well, at least the Empire State Building stayed up, something that AC never quite managed.

It did look like quite a run down area where he was but I was only there for a day so can't really comment he lived in a place called Church I think.

i reckon Accrington's NORI bricks being used in the foundations for the Empire State Building is tosh... Manhattan's bedrock is easily strong enough to support the ESB, and all the other huge buildings found on that island... plus, there's no citation for that claim in Wiki.

It's always best to do your homework before attempting to dismiss facts as tosh.

How is the project progressing, vernon - do you happen to know via profesional contact etc?
As an aside - what a collection of 'sub headers' on the right-hand side of the Accrington Observer's page!

It was one of those little things that lodged in the brain when I was looking up NORI bricks as a knowledge branch when originally researching Scoria Bricks which were used to pave the back alleys of Darlington.
