I have got a Vivosmart Hr as a replacement for a failed Vivosmart and I prefer the old one, just a shame they stopped making it.

The HR function on the Vivosmart is a work of fiction - I have used it while wearing a chest strap and wouldn't ditch the chest strap. The HR function has made the vivosmart hr quite a bit bigger than the old vivosmart, so it is less comfortable to wear.

I also have a Garmin Forerunner 230, which I would choose every time over the Vivosmart. It can be paired with the chest strap for accurate HR and will also do step tracking etc. so could replace the Vivosmart all together. It will allow you to select activity, so I use it to record my rides while commuting to work and can't be bother to take the 510.

Garmin Vivoactive here. Can do most of the things the Forerunner does (swimming, running, cycling, HR strap, Bluetooth notifications from phone etc) but doesn't look too much like a fitness/running watch. Battery life is about 2 weeks which is reasonable.
