Yep. buy the biggest bike he can fit on now and so future proof it a bit. Some S/H Isla bikes around at reasonable money and before they get too battered.

I bright a Ridgeback mx26 for my daughter for £40 pretty much new....

Yeah I had assumed it might have gone that way.

A shame in some ways as this bike is the one he loves to ride, and has a bit of attachment to a lot of things. But am sure we can get over that if the upside is better adventures!
