Adding to trek 7.5

Just bought a used trek 7.5fx - delivered next week
I'd like to add some more 'touring type' attachments to the handlebar - is this possible on this bike?

Do you mean bar ends? From what I have read, this can be awkward on Trek hybrids due to the design of the bars

Probably bar ends, yes. Just looking for something for more long-term riding

Just looked at some on google images and it seems I can

Before you buy bar ends (if you do!) pop out the end plug from your handlebars and check if it is round. If you have Bontrager IsoZone bars it wont be and you will be lucky to get bar ends to fit. I changed my bars to normal ones to overcome the problem. I still have the originals and the funny shaped plugs!

I have the Trek 7.3FX by the way, so very similar to yours.
