It’s sort of obvious that you have to bowl between the lines.
But the fact that it is the back foot and not the front foot that is the measuring point is odd.

‘Odd’, unlike the rest of cricket? :-)

I've only just realised how chicken-ey walkers chicken crisps are. I don't like chicken crisps anyway, but up until now have had the odd cheap-brand chicken crisp when there was nothing else to eat. Walkers chicken crisps taste like you've just given a chicken a bath in chicken soup, and then licked it's foot

I read somewhere that if you filled a standard sized public swimming pool with fresh water

and then put one drop of chicken flavouring in it

then the whole pool would clearly taste of chicken

Obviously they have not seen a standard sized public swimming pool filled with fresh water before. It’s green, stinks, and I doubt they would go near it, much less try it to see if it tastes of chicken :-)

I was just investigating some local history (Bearnshaw Tower) and spotted something on an old map in that article. Apparently, Burnley used to be called Brunley, and that came from Brun Lea (meadow by the (river) Brun). I had never noticed the Brun on my OS maps before. I should pay more attention to my maps - it took me 3 decades to notice that Rochdale is on the river Roch!

It's often cheaper to buy single tins of tuna in Aldi than a pack of four.
