I have just learned something that I hope doesn't mean what I think it does... 
Last night I got a message saying that a courier had 2 parcels for me and that they would be delivered this afternoon.
I just got 2 more messages...
Message #1 said that the parcel whose contents are valued at £25 will be delivered 13:00-14:00.
Message #2 said that the parcel whose contents are valued at £600 will now NOT be delivered until further notice!
So, I am wondering why. Has someone...

I have lived in Yorkshire near the border with Lancashire for 39 years and I have often heard locals muttering about the 'War** of the Roses'. I think that for most of them the hostile comments are a bit tongue-in-cheek, though one or two still take the subject seriously!
It struck me today that I didn't actually know who won so I thought that I would do my history homework this evening on Wikipedia. I expected a few paragraphs but found THIS incredibly detailed article! It is too much to read in one go, so I still don't know who won. ** What I have learned though that it was actually a series of wars lasting over 30 years.
I will read the article over a few days. It looks interesting .

I have just learned that I was ignorant of the fact that the handle of one of my pans was barely attached.
I carried the pan across my kitchen full of boiling water and rice yesterday evening. I was just washing it up when the handle suddenly broke off in my hand, sloshing warm bubbly water over me. It would have been horrific if it had happened yesterday and doused me in boiling water instead!!
