I currently ride a Spesh Hybrid I use the bike for my daily commute, which is only 4 miles round the potholed/glass strewn streets of East London. I also do a 9 mile 'keep fit' ride 3-5 times a week (takes about 42mins). I also fit in the occasional 20-30 miler, and will be joining a local club to start going further. Within 15 miles of getting the bike the other year I got a p******* and so fitted it with Schwalbe marathon plus tyres, a right to fit but not a sniff of a p******* after 2000+ miles which has been a godsend as I'm kind of a Frank Spencer (Google it young uns) figure when it comes to repairs/mechanics etc.
Anyway now I have decided to ditch the Hybrid, man up and get a road bike, I have got a good deal on a Spesh Allez sport 2013 carbon fork Sora groupset jobbie through C2W. Now hear is my dilemna; I know the Marathon plus's should again be a no brainer for a cack-handed simpleton with no puncture repair skills. But I have the obvious niggle of should I really be putting these beasts on a really nice bike (in its price range). So I begin yet another tyres thread (I had to pop my cherry at some time) for the good people of CC to please give me their much appreciated replies.
