Advice needed on my first e-bike

Both have their uses. Cheaper systems cut off at different speeds yet an 8mph cut-off can give higher mileage, be it at a slow pace.
I do not mind either.

My current manual bike is belt drive; I've had it two years without a problem and I vastly prefer it.

Pedant warning!

Latin root of manual is hand, what you have is a pedal bike.
