After cataract surgery

I'm due to have the first of 2 cataract operations this Friday. I will ask the surgeon how long afterwards can I cycle again but I've looked online and haven't seen a consensus of opinion. I ride an upright bike and at a moderate pace so not energetic riding.
If you've had yours done what were you told to do?

@gavroche is your man, he has recently had both done.
I'm waiting for mine, it will be a general anaesthetic and they will do both eyes while I am under . The hospital optician said I will be able to see clearly right away, I will believe that when it happens

I had one eye done due to an old injury several years ago and was told not to cycle or swim for 6 weeks.
Walking was ok, though.

Maybe things have moved on since then or maybe mine was a different operation.
Possibly your guidance will be different 🤷‍♂️

Regular
Having both eyes done at the same time is unusual. I know 4 people who've had them done but only one eye at a time;
I rather wish they'd do both at the same time.
The way it works here is you have the first done and a few days later you see the optician. Depending on the results you have the second done a week after the first.

I had both done at different times and on both occasions, I was able to drive again within a couple of days.
After the first one, the surgeon advised me to wait one week before I could cycle again but to be honest, it all depends how you feel and if your vision is back to normal. He also recommended to wear glasses which I always do anyway.
