A great piece of kit and helped me to eat when I struggled.
However, it is very difficult to clean.
Tried all the obvious ways and am thinking of trying white vinegar
Do you have any tried and trusted methods?

In a basin of soapy water works for me. What’s the problem with yours?

I put the tray things from the basket in the dishwasher

The basket itself need to be washed by hand - just soapy water

The problem is the area around the element
I generally turn the thing upside down and scrub it as much as possible with a clth and then a toothbrush
needs doing quite often or the fat will congeal and get more difficult to get off

Originally I used to unbolt the fan and unscrew the element which I could then loosen and pull out slightly on its wires
but that stopped working
AMazon were very good about replacing it but I'm not trying to go that far again!!

really I think the element should be properly removable so it can be cleaned properly
and,f for that matter, replaced if it fails - like kettles when I was a kid

but anyway

Cadac BBQ cleaner, turn the machine upside down, spray it around the much and leave for a few minutes then wipe off. The basket just get washed as soon as it has finished its job of cooking whatever I am doing, a quick squirt of Ineos washing up liquid, fill with hot water and left to soak whilst I eat, the rinse and dry. It still looks like new after ten months of use often twice a day.

What do you spray it with - congealed fat is notoriously difficult to get off???

I used to have a Philips tray air fryer but I've got a model now that is one of those mini oven style ones and has 3 trays they literally take seconds to clean with other washing in the basin. I do have a dishwasher but don't eat a lot at home so it gets annoying waiting for a full load so just wash the stuff I've used in the basin. If I use that chip frying barrel thing where you load the chips in and it rotates as it cooks that can be a pain to clean and needs a decent soak.

Just that the grease clogs on the base/grill and the sides of the pan.
Today I left it in a bowl of hot soapy water then used one of those sponges with a rough coating. Better but not good.

I can't use anythign with a rough surface on mine

it has a non stick coating to it would just make it worse

but it does seem to clean very easily - excpet for the bits around the element at the top

I only wipe out the main tray with soapy water. The rack goes in the dishwasher or gets a scrub with a brush if very dirty. I haven't even looked at the top bit or the element. I've had it for over 2 years, used a few times a week and it doesn't smoke so I carry on regardless. Unlike our main oven which seems to smoke and attract grease as soon as you've cleaned it

Thanks.
Never heard of that barkeepers friend. Been on their website and it tells me there are no stockists near me.
The Screw fix ione seems to be sold by the gallon.

BF is available on amazon and the degreaser is concentrated so it can easily be diluted Into a spray bottle. I’m only now near the end of the 5L bottle I bought two years ago.
