AirZound equivalent for a Bike path?

Using an AirZound on a bike path might be a bit extreme - but I need a horn whereby people who are using headphones, have hearing problems or simply talking to their mates can hear me. Using my bell or asking 'excuse me' doesn't seem to get their attention. I can't cycle on roads as the roads on the way to school are mostly dual-carriage-way and I do not feel confident enough.

For those that have an AirZound - could I do two quick beeps - would that still be too loud?

Thanks!

There is never any situation where use of an Airzound could possibly be deemed acceptable on pedestrians.

I use a big traditional 3 inch Dutch bell, it has a great tone and a long range and people instantly react as they 'understand' what the sound means

DING DONG!

I haven't got an airzound, but, the op is talking about how to attract the attention of peds with earphones in. If they can't hear a polite excuse me, bell, or horn, then an airzound might break through, but wouldn't have the same effect as on a none earphoned ped surely?

I've never met an airzound in the flesh, so may be talking ballcocks.

Air zound is very loud and will anger a few people.

I had the same sort of problem at a set of toucan lights. I waited for them to go green behind a pedestrian, twice pointed out to the pedestrian with their head down looking at their phone with plugs in that the lights had changed. No response so went round them just as they suddenly realised and went to walk into me! Luckily I had taken a wide path around them.

I guess the OP is looking for something that is between voice and air zound in level.

Its about the sudden noise triggering a fight flight response more than the volume to be honest.

It's a difficult problem, one which we have discussed a few times on here.

A Dutch bell and patience seen to be the best solution.

I avoid using any pathway that isn't a segregated cycleway. If I have to. I'll get off and walk. But I use a HornIt which "sometimes" works. Usually a polite "excuse me" works. If not, I slowly ramp up the decibels till I'm screaming at them!
