There is always the online option....

Yes and there is for Iceland and I don't use it.I did have a Waitrose account but never use it.Not really much point when I've got nearer stuff...Or perhaps I could get one of those delivery drivers to cut up those pesky non road tax paying cyclists over that long pointless journey.;)

Anybody tried those baselayer shorts out? I'm assuming they're just like a liner with padding to wear under your bibs. Wouldn't that be too much padding? I'm intrigued.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page and let it reload you'll see them
Not on my link, I'm not. Last in my lot is a pair of raspberry ladies baselayer shorts.

EDIT: Though I can see them if I filter to only see shorts....odd that they're not appearing otherwise.

Picked up a couple of bits on Sunday. Really impressed with their lightweight wind/water proof jacket. Also grabbed a few base layers and a pair of MTB shorts.

We had the U.S. Aldi cycling deals a few weeks ago, mostly just water bottles, multi tools, the pump, and workstands. I bought the workstand, it's great. Aldi may only have a very limited selection over here, but I don't even see my LBS selling a workstand. I bought the toolset last year, and it has been pretty good also.

Do those mats do anything that my old rug doesn't?
Probably not. And couldn't help but think they are a bad idea unless you cover them with paper/old cardboard which you maybe better use anyway. Surely it will collect oil and grunge and stuff which you will traipse everywhere?

Must admit I did not get this at all...as I don't follow Kerry Kantona.

Nearest Aldi to me is 9 miles away (apparently) so I don't think I will be visiting anytime ever.
Ever? You never travel 9 miles from home? I thought the invention of the bicycle had freed folk from those limits, set them madly breeding with folk from the next village.

Edit -read the whole thread/see this has been addressed - will let stand.

Plenty of people with cars in my village seem to have struggled to breed with folk outside their immediate family, forget the next village.

Anyway, bought a couple of the Aldi jerseys after long-held scepticism that lycra could be any better than a Primark t-shirt. OMG totally converted. It's like wearing a top made of cool air. Only downside is it bloody stinks after the commute (17km), I had to bury it at the bottom of my bag prior to reclothing for the journey home.

Name that village

The top shouldn't "stink" after one use if it's decent stuff.

Next thing you'll be wearing lycra shorts which are a revelation for comfort - before that I used normal cotton sports shorts - only use them now and again these days though as do fewer longer day rides though out most days on the bike/s.

Keep watching the "found a bargain" thread on here and you can pick up quality lycra at very good prices from quality brands such as Altura and Endura.

My local store had almost sold out of tops and bib shorts - managed to get the last 1 of each in size large, whereas I'd wanted medium.

@KnackeredBike You need to hang the top up to dry after the ride in. Not noticed any particular stinkiness of Aldi stuff compared with other brands !
