I use it as an alarm clock, and a radio/streaming into my hifi.

Depends if you liked being spied on. They use the information gained from listening to you and your questions to bombard you with targeted ads, in a similar way that mobile phones do. My daughter discovered her ex had hacked into hers and was talking to the kids when her back was turned, that was after he'd been banned from all contact for being a naughty boy. Personally don't like anything that listens or watches me. I cover the camera on my laptop and pc for privacy.

If Jeff Bezos wants to listen to me farting or talking to my dogs he can be my guest. I never have a substantive conversation in the same room.

At least with a phone you can spend time removing permissions from the apps known to 'spy', but even then, everything one types into a search is probably being used to target adverts to us. On my work PC, Bing is the default browser and judging by the ads on its homepage, it seems to know everything about me.

My tenant uses it for lights, music and general smart things. They can be useful if you have limited mobility I suppose. Or if you just like tech. I don't like the idea of talking more than I need to, so tend to use old fashioned switches

I have one , mrs Exlaser bought it for me as a birthday present. As I hate that kind of thing , I don’t think she knows me that well even after 35 year .
I dislike all kinds of voice activated tech , to me it’s just noise pollution.
I dislike it so much the last time we changed router I didn’t change the settings on it. So there it sits in the corner of the room, quiet, unloved , unused and dusty . 😂😀
