They didn't have belly buttons, obviously.
Everyone else though...deffo.
Hitchcock must have had a belly button otherwise he'd never have survived in the womb. It was possibly hidden by his extensive tum, hence the urban myth.

It's entirely plausible that his navel was removed during the first few months of 1957. These days they use it as one of the entry points for the surgical tools in laparoscopic surgery - and it hurts afterwards.

According to google, he had several rounds of abdominal surgery because he was a Lard-O, and the navel was removed during one of these. Apparently he used to delight in showing it off to young actresses.

Can I just say from my variant "his mother, the dirty bugger, cut it off when he was small"?
