i'm pretty sure the steerer tube has gone as well. without seeing the bike, chap at lbs diagnosed a write-off as front end, shifters and chain would be broken

just had lbs officially write-off the bike
however, mercian still make an identical frame, so lbs can provide an identical bike for just under £2k. glad someone else broke it, and will be paying for its replacement...

Hope you are feeling better soon. Collar bones do like to break! I've broken both of mine about 3 times each now and it doesn't get any easier.
Lets home that the numpty driver's insurance is up to scratch and that they don't mess you about too much or for too long.
I have found that chocolate ice cream is a good thing to help with the pain of broken collar bones, it might just work for me though.

just to clarify, when the bike shop says written-off, it means uneconomical to repair. the insurance company might ask for the written off bike, but in his experience, they don't
