I would add Kenny Everett's Captain Kremmin to balance the TV bias for sheddy.

Does anyone remember Set of Six starring Rowland Rivron?
It was circa 1990 and he played the parts of sextuplet "Scroat" brothers.
It was way ahead of its time with the fly on the wall docu style comedy. I know he has been crap since but that was really really great.

Glad to see someone own up to liking Benny Hill too!

True.
I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue is high up on my list

PHEW! I thought I was going out on a limb with the R4 selection.

So we also need to include,

The Goons
News Quiz
The Now Show
Just A Minute
Round The Horn
Old Harry's Game
Bleak Expectations
Milton Jones

Lest we forget the shows that started on R4 and transfered to BBC TV:
The Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy(only series I went to TV)
On The Hour (transfered as The Day Today, giving us Al*n P*rtr*dge)
Little Britain
Dead Ringers
Goodness Gracious Me
The Mary Whitehouse Experience

IMO these shows were all far better on the radio.

I was going to put that in my list but I heard an episode on R7 and found it had really rather dated.
Still it did give me one of my favourite quotes, 'it may be raing outside but deep in my heart, it's p*ssing down.':biggrin::biggrin:

I agree totally with Milton Jones. The guy is amazing. Absurdly surreal, or should that be surreally Absurd?

I haven't heard it since I was at school! The radio-thon one was good, if I remember.
