of course no front is worse, I'd guess that very few accidents involve a collision from the rear and even less due the cyclist not being seen when the driver looked for them

lots of people seem to go on about how bright their rear lights are, fine but rear lights are cheap and easy, front ones tend to be th eones that cost money

Me, me!! *puts hand up*

I was hit from the rear while turning right so it does happen!

(have to say it was in broad daylight though!;))

Don't beat yourself up op! Everyone was ok.

from directly behind you or did they fail to deal with you turning right across them?

anyhow, as you say, it wasn't presumably for want of being visible, all my accidents barring the last ped collision were in broad daylight and perfect conditions

to this day my favourite happened on a quiet road I was testing for a shortcut, a car reversed out of a driveway quite firmly, I stopped sharply and then got off smartly as he reversed into the bike and then over it by about four feet with me howling blue murder

he stopped and got out to find an apoplectic cyclist but no bike, he then asked me where the bike was, I leave you to guess the tone of my reply

All,

Thanks for the feedback. It must be the season for bad driving!

I was in the car in Glasgow today and whilst stopped at lights I noticed the guys in front, to the side and behind me were all 3 using handheld mobiles!

Then, on the final few hundred yards back home, 7.40pm and well dark, another unlit cyclist came out of a side road right to left in fromt of me and wobbled up the road infront of me with several bags of shopping dangling from his handlebars!!.....

As for the previous chap the other day, 2 other things struck me at the time, he was also weaving between buses at the lights (where 1 bus was going left and the other right) which I reckon can be dodgy, and he was wearing baggy sports shorts and the temperature was about the +4c, which might explain his rush to get home!

I'm staying in from now on!
