Actually I'm not, but if I was 30 years younger I ruddy well would be.

I keep looking at old vinyl in tiny shops. And regret binning the cassette tapes 5 years ago .

I do however have my dads 8 tracks and player and it runs on a 12v bench power supply happily.

Thankfully I shaved my beard off .
Is it me or is the Grauniad slowly turning into Jackie?

And The Independent's comment section is like something out of Hitler's bunker
Given up on the Indy since it went online only. Grauniad online seems dominated by articles written by folk writing from a North American perspective. But taking the pish out of one of the world's largest urban tribes must be done. CPH is full of middle-aged, fat, hipsters who've lost their socks and shrunk their trousers. Utterly tragic, but they are utterly earnest and completely sincere people and I can't help but love ém.

(I grew a beard and shaved it off. My trousers are over narrow, I ride ss/fixed and I do have an outstanding appointment with a tattoo artist,,,,,)

I have been called a hipster professor. But I'm simply too old to be a hipster. I'm from a previous generation before hipsters were a thing. I appreciate irony but I don't do things ironically. Crap music is just crap, not hilarious. I have no tats. I certainly don't wear tight trousers. I do ride SS but that's just because it's simple and convenient - I have lots of bikes because I am a cyclist. I have a beard but it's not a hipster beard and in fact I only have a beard at all because it makes me look more my age and, along with the way I dress, stops people thinking I'm a student here...

8 track cassettes were actually developed by Learjet the luxury business airline popular with slebs in the 60s and 70s, about as far from hipster or rednecksville as you could get.

Hipsters and rednecks have about absolutely nothing in common. Hipsters love a certain level of retro. 8 tracks are that but cassettes are more accessable.

Nope. I'll buy the rest but there are hipsters here in their 60's. Old hipsters are uber-hipsters. Looked up to and admired like proper tribal elders.

PS I have lots of bikes but I'm not a cyclist.
