I like that bar thing on the handlebars- great idea. I've got not much room for everything so the bell's nudging the cateye and doesn't give a proper ring. Can you buy these bars or is it a DIY job?
Dead jealous you're allowed the bike in the kitchen- it would be certain divorce or castration if I brought mine in (or at least if I got caught !)

I'd add a long (almost to the ground) mudflap to that front guard. It keeps the drivetrain surprisingly cleaner for much longer.

Good idea, never thought of that. I do have a 'fenda extenda' on the motorbike, but can't seem to find a similar thing for the bicycle. Can you actually buy an extender, or would I have to bodge one on?

Actually, just found some on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.u...g_bikeparts_SR but at £23, I think I'll try and bodge a cut off piece of cheapo guard first.

Its a piece or pushfit plastic plumbing pipe (very light) with black insulating tape wrapped around.......and it's just taped on at either side. It looks naff, but works well. I wanted 2 lights up front, but it's a bit dangerous to have them close together. (Motorbikes aren't allowed to have 2 side by side head lights running at the same time as it gives the impression that the bike is actually a car further away, so other drivers are more likely to pull out on us). Plus I've plenty of room for bell/horn/computer/mp3 now.

The bike normally lives in the lounge, next to the stairs and goes in the garage at the weekend. It was only in the kitchen 'cos it's better lighting, and I needed to be near the cooker to warm the plastic for the mudguard extension.
