to like cycling in the rain? i hate the wind but i love it if it's warm but raining really hard. i swear it gives me super cycling powers because i seem to have so much more energy.

Dunno. I normally subscribe to the "I don't mind if it's cold as long as it's dry" school of thought, but OTH, I really enjoyed this morning's commute in the pi$$ing rain.

I ride in the rain all the time, doesn't stop me, but I don't like it. Prefer it to be dry and get the most out of the bike's performance.

Your at a plus there as most do not like it and clam up esp. when out.

Ive been racing a few times in the wet and caught lot of people out - gained ALOT esp. if its warm too!

It gets wearing if you have to do it a lot but it's great every now and then ;)

Walking in the rain occasionally does you me good too. It makes me feel really alive for some reason .

Love it - but only the super heavy stuff. I cycled back from the Bullring in Birmingham to the university on Tuesday lunchtime in a seriously heavy spell. The roads couldn't cope with the volume of water and my rim was virtually submerged. Arrived back absolutely soaking head to toe (I only had a rear Raceblade on) but I enjoyed it the whole way - got a few funny looks from people when they saw my grinning face!

I was just completing a big climb in Germany, a week ago today, when it started seriously tipping down, real torrential stuff that you don't really see in this country. I had no choice but to carry on, even with my two year old daughter on the back, into a half hour long decent and shelter. I imagined that she would be suffering terribly back there, shivering and shaking, and felt I had failed her as a father to be subjecting her to these terrible conditions!!

I needn't have worried though as once I finally found somewhere to take shelter and came to a stop I turned round to find that she had slept though the whole thing!! Unbelievable! ;)

Yeah, as long as you don't get cold, it can be really exhilarating riding in the heavy rain.

Miffy agrees with me by the way; in 'Miffy's Bicycle' she exclaims: "... but biking while it's raining / can be exciting too."

And who can argue with Miffy?
