You probably need to be a nerd/geek to truly appreciate this, but, check out the review (about half way down the page) by John E. Fracisco of the following book

I preferred his earlier works like "chmod the lonely shrew".

Sounds like someone had a vermin problem and wished to make the friendless critter 'executable'...

I always liked Tracert the Otter.. the much loved, but oft forgotten twin brother of Tarka.

His stories of shell commands and scripting had me coming back for more 'when I were a lad'.

    Likewise Tim, coat retrieved...

    # cat flap
    cat: cannot open flap

    # echo "127.0.0.1 Elvis" >> /etc/hosts;ping Elvis
    Elvis is alive

And my fave (although it's sql rather than shell)

    > SELECT * FROM users WHERE clue > 0"
    0 rows returned

Can I come out of the basement now?

In this vein, surely Harry Potter is all about peer to peer (Ron, Hermione and Harry) networks working under a liberal network environment (Dumbledore) to defeat the evil top down information/magic syndicates?

  13. Anyone got a link to the Peter Andre and Jordan album reviews on Amazon? Those are hilarious.
