Do my friggin head in.

Had a car crash back in the icy winter of '09, flipped the car on a bank and wrote my car off.

Keep getting calls claiming that a third party hit me. When I inform them that there were no passengers in the car and no damage to any other vehicles or property inevitably they are not interested.

The latest one took the pee though, didn't even have the common decency to apologise and say bye, just hung the phone up on me! The cowards ring withheld as well. Disgusting.

Im with you on this one. I had a bump a few years back, while i was stationary in a line of traffic the van in front of me selected reverse by mistake and hit me. Very little visible damage, although the insurance bill came to £600!
Anyway no injuries whatsoever and all sorted without hassles. Im still getting calls trying to suggest I claim for injuries etc. I tend to get a little annoyed with the caller and tell them in no uncertain terms that there were no injuries. Usually they just hang up, not a word of apology just a dead line. Parasites!

Thing is, the insurance companies are quick enough to suggest that rising premiums are a result of these claims companies, when they probably sell on my details in the first place!

Just yesterday I received a call from a company who informed me that I probably had ground for a claim for compensation for the mis-selling of payment protection insurance.

I asked the called to tell me my name - she couldn't
I asked to name the product that was mis-sold to me - she couldn't
I asked her to identify the company or organisation that had mis-sold the payment protect to me - she couldn't

I then asked her why I should supply her with the answers to support a claim that I could make for free and that her company would charge me 20% of the claimed compensation - again she had no answers.

I know people are desperate for jobs. I just wonder how folk are sold the job of cold calling and prospecting for claims.

They don't give up as the call was the last of a series of four from the same number.

I had to go into hospital recently for a brain scan.
Since then I have had quite a few calls and texts offering me the chance to claim for my accident.
I haven't had an accident, I was just ill.

It could be a coincidence.

I had a spate of accident claims company calls over a short period of time.
