Fair weathered, fair minded but easily persuaded.
As a bike commuter for many years in London, and of course like many a tax paying motorist too, i have seen some horrendous cycling discipline and the bloody results too and not always the motorists fault either.

Still Boris's blue bike lanes have helped, just wished there were more and that cyclists were given total priority around Vauxhall, its a death trap.
Discipline?

Anyway, welcome! :welcome:
Well lack of discipline as in jumping lights, riding the wrong way in one way streets , riding on the inside of a vehicle as he is indicating to turn left( suicidal ), yeah it happens in Amsterdam too but we don't share the road with juggernauts and lunatic mini cab drivers . London is not Holland and I personally think that cycling has been encouraged too much in London with the infrastructure we have to work with. And throw into that mix the mind set of Londoners who think they are all Bradley Wiggins and I'm afraid a lot more ppl are going to be injured or worse .

Welcome!

There's always going to be Darwin Awards on any two-wheeler...have you seen the weekend warriors on motorbikes have all come out of hibernation since the heatwave started?

I've visited Amsterdam a few times and that is the one city I would NOT cycle!!! Well not on the main thoroughfares anyway.

Many Cyclists that don't stop for anyone. Piling thru ped crossings. Bike lines next to unguarded canals. Not forgetting the motorised scooters that speed up and down and across the cycle paths.

Many of the road markings/signs seem unclear/confusing at junctions.

While I didn't see any accidents while I've been there ( the Dutch are apt at dodging/swerving) many do have a get from a to b without back peddling attitude.

I'm sure if you're a native Dutchy you'll laugh at what I've just wrote but as a visitor I was quite shocked.

I am however visiting copenhagen next year to try out their cycling infrastructure which does look to me more visitor friendly.
