Just watched a couple of their shorts: I think Kyle must be a very tolerant man.

I've done an audax with her - she's a strong rider and has been able to turn something which helped her into a job There may be quite a few following their ride following her French trip last year.

I'm seeing the daily ride on Strava, that's all

Yet to watch the videos but had a look at the tracker yesterday. Think it said 247km daily average across the two days. Off to the start they wanted for their target. I do wonder if they need to do slightly higher daily distances whilst the going is good. I am sure something will come along later on to challenge the record attempt.

Good luck and safe travels to them.

It is an impressive undertaking and I'll be checking in on their progress were I can. The tracker is here for those intrested:

Intriguingly they are going to be riding right past were I work. I'm just not sure which day and whether I'll be at work when they do. If the chance presents itself maybe I'll pop out and give them a cheer as they ride by.

The current record is, I believe, just under 205 days. That's 142km per day, so call it 150km per day to allow for the flights and for their scheduled days off for bike maintenance. Amy wants to do it in an arbitrary 150 days, whilst Kyle is merely aiming to go well under 205. So Amy's fast, 150 days, target is 205km per day (flights / days off allowed for).

The first two days were necessarily restricted to 360km in total by the inconvenience of the English Channel. Now they're in the flatlands of Gaul they've significantly upped the daily distance to either 260 or 270km today. I'd have thought that if they focus on staying uninjured, rather than going as rapidly as possible, then they will have quite a bit of time in hand at the end.

Their 'cycling journey' in the last four years has been pretty remarkable!

I am following them and quite like their humour together. They are both very strong cyclists and as long as they stay free from injury, logistics issues or serious mechanical they may well do it. The thought of doing 200 km rides almost everyday for 6 months melts my brain. It will be interesting to see how the Pinarellos cope on this kind of trip. Personally I’d want to see more of the landscapes, culture and engage with the people in the countries they are travelling through, but I can understand they want to do more of a race format to raise cash for the charity. Each to their own and I can see this becoming an ultimate charity bike ride. I’ll certainly sponsor them.

Am I the only one who foresees an issue here?

Some of these "Records" are a tad arbitrary. This I think is for fastest couple cycling "around the world*". Yet a couple from just up the road have done it quicker than that, albeit on a tandem!
I can see why one wants to do it in 150 -180 day otherwise they'd merely be the 2nd fastest couple in Derbyshire to cycle "around the world*"

*you can cycle sort of anywhere and jump on a few planes, except you must do 18000 miles or roughly keep going east (or west) continuously.

I would suggest that 'around the World' records are *all* a tad arbitrary! Quite apart from what 'around the World' is defined to mean, there's the, (rhetorical) question of what constitutes 'a couple'.

Agree. The point to points like LeJoG or the RRA old city to city records or furthest in "x" time are "proper records"

Fastest Vegan Couple with ginger goatee beards between Bath and Bristol anyone?

This. He already looks fed up. He's lost alot of weight too. Amy isn't my favourite, but hats off to the challenge. Two punctures already suggest poor tyre choise.

150 miles each day is not what I would call fun. I suspect maintenance will get a challenge in less populated areas especially on those bikes.
