Not long after it was in at the bike shop too. Unlucky.

I don't know enough on the topic really but what's going on with these punctures? Is it to be expected with the weight they're carrying or is this an excessive amount? Seems it to me.


I'm also quite surprised by the tally of donations. I can't remember the TDF total but I think it was much more than this in a shorter span too.

Although maybe the fact that this is just some random tour (albeit a WR attempt) whereas the other was linked to the TDF which gets a lot of attention - maybe that's the difference.

They were also posting a lot more during the TDF one, because Kyle was acting as support crew rather than cycling, so he had time to edit and post videos every day.

I followed Josh Kohler and his dad doing around the world and they suffered similar issues with punctures. Usually short pieces of wire. TBH surprised they didn't attempt tubeless.

As i probably said before (and others have said), it's very possible that their tyres are still good overall, as they roll fast. If I rode across Europe, Malaysia and AUS, I'd be prepared for at least several flats!

HOWEVER, publicity is a funny thing; as their sponsor I'd be anxious about the message this is sending out. No-one is saying:
"Week 6: total time saved vs Marathon+ tyres 9h45minutes. Woo-hoo!"

I'd be discretely posting out their slightly-more-robust-if-slightly-slower tyre and strongly suggesting A+K fit them.
