200k a day plus transfers plus sleeping/eating/staying clean is a hard ask. I'd have suggested try the womens TdF first or do the transfers by train as much as possible. She isnt Lachlan Morton but she wont know until she tries it.

True, but 200k isn't 200 miles, and the likes of Amanda Coker, Steve Abraham and Kurt Searvogel managed that OK. Admittedly they had the luxury of being able to avoid mountains. ;)

I don't know anything about Amy at all, having only watched one video so I have no idea if she's in or close to that league either.

She has done a few previous events where she did quite big mileage for several days in a row, but never on this scale yet.

I guess that after following the antics of Steve, Amanda et al it's easy to become blasé.

Poo it's only 200k a day. I could do that! (For one day. Provided it was flat  )

I'm always sceptical of many 'charity' events, in that 100% of donations should be straight to charities. It shouldn't be covering the participant's costs. Hopefully she has enough sponsors etc. that are paying all the hotel and food costs and that for her support, and 100% of all donations go to charity. I see too many where part of the fund raising is used for someone's holiday.

I'm also suspicious of someone incurring significant air miles/travel just to ride a bike.

It's the same with a 'walking person' I follow - followed for various walking routes etc, but as time has progressed, things have changed massively £££££ - He recently had an all expenses paid cruise, and then a holiday to UAE and was promoting the place heavily - very questionable with the human rights issues in places like that.

That's 'influencers' for you - a short timeframe to actually make money.

It's easy when you don't have 'real work' commitments or a family/elderly parents etc etc. I certainly don't have time for much more than commuting, and a couple of hours on the bike at weekends. I can't spend saturday and sunday riding bikes. That said, they are young and need to get that cash in now before real life hits.

I'd replace "easy" with "potentially possible" ;)

Well, you've time to get the miles in, you are getting 'given' all these 'foods' etc. I hope she can stomach those drinks and energy bars every day.

After last year's 205km Sportive, I did not want to see a carb drink, gel, or energy bar for a long time, and that was with eating fruit/malt loaf in-between. And that was one day.

It is only a few weeks ago that she resigned her "real" job to become a full time cycling Youtuber.

She has several sponsors, and I think between them, they are covering the costs, so all donation should go to the charity.

You don’t need to be to average 200km a day. She’s been riding audaxes a while now , including the last PBP where you average around 300km a day (fastest riders around 500km a day). It will all be manageable if she is disciplined about getting going around sunrise, and has a good routine in the evening before sleep. She’s not trying to set any fastest known times (like Lachlan), just demonstrate that ordinary folk like ourselves can do extraordinary things.

Plus there’s no transfers, she riding all those bits. Simple maths would show that 200km average per day (over a month) gives you 6,200km, somewhat more than the TDF distance.

It is a fraction over 200Km per day, because her actual distance is expected to be 6,300Km.
