The 15kg bikes tend to be loaded with 40kg of luggage and tackling a decent amount of rough un paved tracks. Their route is tarmac all the way I think. They will be travelling much lighter than the expedition tourers going for a few years. Plus Amy is very lightweight, somewhere in the 50-60kg range. Don’t see any issue with the bikes they have chosen for the intended purpose.

Hopefully they're bikes will be OK, if not im sure they'll get sorted PDQ. I've been following Dad and Son Kohler doing around the world and they've already had to replace a Trek touring frame due to cracking, admittedly they are fully loaded.

Pah,

My best man toured the world on a Thorn tourer for a few years. Came back with a few paint scratches.
