I was expecting something more upmarket like a meal deal from the supermarket. 🤔 Or even better a real picnic.

I question the desirability of carting a huge wicker basket, folding chairs and table with you on a bike ride too.

It's the summer version of using a heavy winter bike, jump on a road bike and you fly. Some people can't handle carrying gear on a bike. You can find food shops out in the countyside then find a spot to eat. Up here some cafes only open for the summer season.
Neither does taking a picnic you pillock!:laugh:

A flask in a bottle cage will weigh at least a kilo. This is the lightweight version, Vargo Ti wood burner stove and Ti msr mug. Don't need to carry water, weight is less that 200grams.
