The headline doesn't match the story. She wasn't held because she drank a glass of wine, she was held because her visa was invalid and she became abusive when questioned about it. She then breached airport security by filming on her mobile in the security area

Looks like they are free to go hone now after Dubai's ruler Sheikh Mohammed intervened. I'm sure this will encourage more to visit.

Seems odd for the airline to tip booze down her neck for which she can be arrested for drinking.
On t'other hand, one locks horns with customs officials at one's peril, particularly in today's political climate.
Also never under-estimate what a mate of mine once described as the 'clever dentist factor'.
Well-paid individuals, used to getting their way and being treated with respect can be easy prey for officialdom wanting a bit of fun.
