An interesting defence

I was scanning the news on the BBC web site and this case caught my eye. It seemed unusual. Essentially, N-Dubz drummer was convicted of sexual assaulting 2 girls. His defence did amuse me:

There's a variant of it that happens frequently in nightclubs, men will show you a bit of crude and unwanted attention, you reject them, so suddenly you're an ugly dog and who'd be looking at you anyway, when they can have any bird they want.

absolutely agree with this. anyone who knows anything about sexual assault will know it's nothing to do with looks or even if you fancy someone. However, for those that aren't "in the know" such as a jury, it's easy to go down the route of "as if i'd fancy someone that ugly" to cast doubt in their mind with the common misconception

Spot on. So, as regards the thread title - "interesting" in the sense of "entirely predictable". Good on N-Dubz for giving him the boot.

It's a disgusting thing to say- basically the tosser is not taking responsibility for his horrendous treatment of two women - it's the typical thing that people have used as defense ie they deserved it due to their clothing.

As for the quality of women in Glasgow, I couldn't comment on that! Lol!

The earlier report sums up his attitude.

Speaking following the verdict at Glasgow Sheriff Court, Fagan said he had been "convicted with no facts" by "a white jury".

Fagan was convicted by Sheriff Joanna Johnston and not a jury. Sentence was deferred until next month.

Good to see the women were taken seriously, I'm sure this type of unwanted attention happens far too often. I'm sure some women would take a more proactive 'hands-off' approach which would result in the application of ice packs to his groin.
