Hi all,
I've never actually done the whole introduce myself thing on a forum before so I thought I'd "go crazy"
I've been commuting by bike on and off for the past five years in central London on my trusty Trek hybrid. I got myself a nice Felt MTB a couple of years ago and try to get out at the weekends, but not as much as I should after that first summer of hundreds of kilometres of off-road fun.
I've now made the decision to lose some weight by riding a lot more and eating a bit less. I started about 6 weeks ago doing 25 km (road) per day in and around the centre of London when I get home in the evening (a work commute would be 85km round trip which I have tried out, but possibly overkill for every day!)
I'm now almost 10kg down and another 10kg is my goal (harder, I know!) to "enable myself" to buy a road bike. We have to have a carrot as well as the stick, right?
I'm on Strava here -> http://www.strava.com/athletes/908491 so it would be great to connect with fellow riders in London to see what nice routes people are taking.
Anyway, I look forward to giving and getting encouragement on here with my fellow cyclists!
Cheers
Dom
