Yes, very normal bloke - iirc for him he did a job, and when the job was finished he went home just like anyone else.
I was a member at The Addington for several years, Ronnie would appear on the course in the very late summer evenings occasionally, with his dog, as his house backs on to it.
A nod and he'd be off while I was getting after work practice in. Still a fan of the pastel shades popular a few decades ago, from what I could tell

You live near Shirley Church Road then. I saw him several times on the Fieldway estate where his cleaner lives. He was once very kind to my sister who has learning difficulties who knocked on his door late at night, A genuinely nice man indeed.
