I haven't seen the show 'Gavin and Stacey' but I saw the two 'stars' from it (Mathew Horne & james corden) doing a stand up routine on the telly a while back - it was without a doubt one of the least funny things I've ever seen - toe-curlingly bad.

*cringe*

I like Frankie Boyle doing standup. The panel show stuff is edited down and nice for TV.

Hugh Dennis - Mary Whitehouse experience was good at the time. He's also done the Etape. Doesn't make him funny but he's a keen roadie.

Ken Dodd is great. My parents didn't like him so I never saw any of his stuff until I worked with him for a puny half hour. He was hilarious, everything off the cuff and he wound up the director by misbehaving constantly until the second before we were live on air.

I never liked Al Murray , Lee Evans or Billy Connelly although everyone in my family including my Nan love Connelly.

I've enjoyed watching billyconnolly in almost all of his guises, his travel stuff is quite gentle.

No-one's mentioned Little Britain - flashes of humour but too much crud to sot through to be arsed watching.

Jimmy Carr - knowing, up himself
Wow there! Jimmy Carr is a genuinely talented comedian, very funny.

As for Frankie, i think he's funny, not seen his stand up but on panel shows he's great.

Russell Howard is my choice, not very funny imo.

No! KD is/was a legend.
MM's mandrawer piece was priceless.
I think you have to see AP to appreciate him properly.

I hear by stand up for Jo Brand - I like her sense of humour and Billy Connelly too. Started listening to Billy Connelly as a young teenager at my cousins house listening to tapes.
