Sounds worse than any of Alan Partridge's ideas for a show. And that includes Monkey Tennis and arm wrestling with Chas and Dave!

The disturbing thing is that they think that Joe Public will enjoy and follow this tripe.
It just shows the contempt they have for their audience.
I stopped watching BBC a few years ago for this very reason.
They do, however, come up with the occasional gem but alas I miss most of them due to lack of interest.
I've just watched the Darling v Salmond debate in full on catchup, and even though I have no vote in the matter, I am interested that the polls seem to give a clear lead to Darling.

Having met Mr D personally a few times, I would advise all voters to seriously think again of anyhting, if that man is in favour.

But good to get the chance to watch the carcrash as it happens.
Err, yeah.... No comment.....

Sadly, very sadly this post is entirely wrong... the reality is in fact entirely the opposite

This was piloted last year (IIRC) and audience research / viewing figures showed it to be both popular and in demand.

The series was then commissioned

So far from showing contempt for the audiance, it is in fact what at least a significant part of the audience wanted!

Lot of channels to fill = lot of programmes required to fill them. There just aren't enough quality programmes to go around.

Movies are ok - I wish there were more movie channels on free-to-watch tv - and the occasional documentary (there was a subtitled series about life on the Island of Harris in the Outer Hebrides on BBC Alba recently which we found more interesting than anything else we could see on the schedule that night).

Generally I'd rather be reading or out doing things - something anything else than watching tv - of an evening nowadays.
